My "Old Man"

Today is my sweetheart’s 27^th birthday.  (He’s gettin’ old!)  I know that's not old, but he teases me about being able to pass for the "Kids" movie ticket price, so I tease him about being qualified for the Senior discount.  :)  We are three years in age difference.

Erick and I have been dating for 11 months now; I can’t believe it’s almost been a year!  What a blessing he has been in my life.  God has shown me so much of His love through our relationship.

In all he does, Erick exemplifies:

• A sincere heart

• A joyful spirit

• A servant attitude

• A balanced agenda

• A great love for the Lord

I noticed all of these qualities as I started to get to know him in early 2004.  I was hoping to get to know him more as all of these qualities (along with his awesome smile and super funky hair) were very attractive to me.  As time passed I saw this servant heart played out in different situations.  I saw how God was using him to impact lives through the HomeTeam ministry.  I loved his wit and his intent focus on whatever he’s doing.  Over the past year, I’ve grown to love his heart more and more every day.  I’m so blessed by his joy and his love for the Lord, it helps to encourage me and refocus me when I get distracted.  He is a rock, and I’m so thankful to have met him.
